Miles Kane - one half of The Last Shadow Puppets alongside Arctic Monkey Alex Turner and former frontman of The Rascals - has announced plans for the release of his guitar-grinding debut single 'Inhaler' on Columbia Records, along with a headline UK tour in November and a support slot with The Courteeners in December.
A tribute to one of Miles' favourite acts of the 1960s - Los Angeles' psychedelic garage group Bonniwell Music Machine - 'Inhaler' is an adaptation of their 1969 track 'Mother Nature Father Earth'.
"I loved the guitar riff on 'Mother Nature Father Earth'," explains Miles. "It's got a real groove to it and this riff inspired me to build a song around it which then became 'Inhaler'."
The b-side features a cover version of another of Miles' vintage influences, a dazzling take on Lee Hazlewood's psych-pop classic, 'Rainbow Woman'.
The record will be made available as a limited edition 7" vinyl single and will include a special poster. The track will also be available as a digital download.
The single release will be preceded by a run of four, intimate solo shows, including a free show as part of Liverpool Music Week. Miles will play a London show the day after the single's release.
Miles Kane will play for following headline shows:
November 2010
Mon 8th - STOKE, Inventions Presents @ The Underground
Tue 9th - LEEDS, The Cockpit
Thu 11th - LIVERPOOL, Mojo
Fri 12th - MANCHESTER, Lost & Found @ The Ruby Lounge
