X Factor graduate Leona Lewis clearly isn’t looking to play it by the book with her next release: the singer has recruited the edgy and hugely talented songwriter Jessie J to help write songs for her new album.
Jessie J is currently in the centre of a media whirlwind after her first single, ‘Do it Like a Dude’ was released earlier this week. The English singer rose to fame after penning songs for Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and others: she even earned writing credits on last summer’s hit for Miley Cyrus, ‘Party in the USA’. However, it would now appear that now Leona Lewis is looking to get in on the action too.
Lewis has supposedly also recruited Manchester-based Hurts for their writing abilities: the modern New Romantics have been hot property since appearing on X Factor earlier this year, and lead singer Theo Hutchcraft seemed thrilled at the prospect: "Leona wants us to write for her. She has an incredible voice and is not bad looking either - so I'd definitely be up for it."
Those who haven’t witnessed Jessie J’s dystopian pop vision can get to grips with her fiery style by watching the video for ‘Do It Like a Dude’ below:
