Lykke Li Unveils Video For New Single ‘I Follow Rivers’

Swedish singer Lykke Li has unveiled the new video for her latest single, ‘I Follow Rivers’. The song is the second to be taken from her upcoming sophomore effort 'Wounded Rhymes', scheduled for release on March 1st.
The video takes a literal approach to the song’s lyrics, depicting the singer actually following a lover across an epic watery landscape. The song itself is a catchy underworld anthem, packed with ethereal vocals and dark tones to boot: definitely worth a listen.
Expectations are high for her second album, ‘Wounded Rhymes’, which the singer wrote and recorded in Los Angeles, a move which she admitted in a recent interview with Pitchfork may have founded on romantic ideas. She said: “I was totally romanticizing the idea of Los Angeles when the Doors, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young were hanging out there. I was trying to find David Lynch and Leonard Cohen with no luck. It was just more of a retreat. And Los Angeles is such a mysterious place because there's so much evil in that city, but there's also so much light. You can be totally alone on a hillside and I love that kind of secluded, deserted rawness."
The song was launched initially on the Dazed & Confused website before being uploaded to YouTube on Thursday evening. Despite only being online for two days, the video has already received 61,000 hits: a definite indicator of the impending commercial success expected for underground cult favourite Lykke Li.
