The Overtones Announce First UK Headline Tour & Tickets

With their debut album 'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' having just been certified Gold, Britain’s newest male vocal group announce their first headline tour of the UK.  The Overtones, the band who stylishly blend classic 50s’ harmonies with modern pop, will be showcasing their musical talents throughout the UK visiting Bristol, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.

The combination of classic repertoire, smooth vocal harmonies and the vintage sound of their songs make The Overtones an exciting addition to the music industry. Taking inspiration from a variety of styles of music from the past century, including the vocal harmony groups of the 30s and 40s and the doo-wop explosion of the 50s and 60s, The Overtones debut album 'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' is bursting with toe-tapping songs from start to finish.

The group began performing together as a quartet in 2006, honing their sound and developing their unique style. However it wasn’t until original members, Mark, Mike, Darren and Timmy, met bass vocalist Lachie and the band became a five piece that The Overtones luck began to change.

Having signed a multi-record deal with Warner Music, The Overtones released their debut album 'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' in November 2010 and have announced a tour for Spring 2011. Falsetto Darren Everest commented “To be touring the UK with our own headline show only 3 months after the release of our debut album is incredible”. Lead singer Timmy Matley said “It’s always great to see the fans singing the songs back to us when we perform, and we can’t wait to get out there on the tour and meet them”. “We’re looking forward to putting on a show the whole family can enjoy” added bass Lachie Chapman.

'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' opens with the doo-wop classic 'Sh-Boom (Life Could Be a Dream)', a top ten hit in the 50s for The Chords, and features a cover of the timeless 'In The Still of the Night', as well as the Billy Joel favourite 'The Longest Time'. Alongside the classics, 'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' features three original tracks, including the laid back 'Carolyn' and the infectious debut single 'Gambling Man', both of which the group penned themselves. Throughout the album The Overtones take their listeners on a musical journey influenced by some of the greatest eras of music.

The 'Good Ol’ Fashioned Love' tour will be visiting a number of cities around the country and for a couple of the guys some of the dates will be particularly significant, “For us, it is a huge deal to be bringing the tour to our hometowns” said tenor Mike Crawshaw. ”Knowing that our friends and families are in the audience always make the shows extra special” added baritone Mark Franks.
