Texan post-rockers Explosions in the Sky have added a date at Edinburgh’s Picture House venue to their May tour of the UK and Ireland. Ahead of the tour on 18th April, the band are set to release their sixth album ‘Take Care, Take Care, Take Care’, which is the long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s ‘All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone’.
Explosions in the Sky were formed in Austin, Texas in 1999 and are made up of Mark Smith (guitar), Chris Hrasky (drums), Munaf Rayani (guitar) and Michael James (bass/guitar). They released their debut album ‘How Strange, Innocence’ in 2000 and in 2004 they wrote and recorded the score to the film ‘Friday Night Lights’ starring Billy Bob Thornton.
The shows in May will follow a number of dates supporting Arcade Fire in the US earlier in the month.
