Lou Reed Announces Show At London's Hammersmith Apollo & Tickets

Lou Reed, New York's finest and one of the founding fathers of punk music, has announced a show at London's Hammersmith Apollo for 4th July 2011.

With The Velvet Underground, Reed and his cohorts broke of mould of underground music and re-fashioned it with his own style and panache. A highly influential and respected musician and composer, which such classics as 'Perfect Day' and 'Take A Walk On The Wild Side' to his name.

Although Lou Reed has always shied away from the public spotlight, he has remained active doing benefits and composing music. Reed also began touring with the Metal Machine Trio, which was widely viewed as a return to his exploration of noise and sound.

Most recently Lou Reed contributed vocals on the third Gorillaz album, 'Plastic Beach' and co-wrote and performed backup music for a Chen Style Tai Chi instructional DVD! He also has a co-production credit on Laurie Anderson's 'Homeland'.
