LA-based band My Ruin, featuring husband and wife rock duo, are making final preparations for their UK tour which kicks-off tomorrow, Wednsday 9th March, at Bristol's Thekla.
Vocalist Tarrie B (Manhole/Tura Satana) and husband/multi-instrumentalist Mick Murphy engage in the kind of hardcore sludge grind that makes most male fronted groups seem like the Bay City Rollers. Speaking about the tour, My Ruin commented. "We're sorry if we couldn't make it to your town on this first tour but we did our best to mix it up and play a couple cities and venues we haven't played before so we hope you'll do your best to join us while we're over."
Playing a string of ten dates across the country, including a special appearance at this year's Hammerfest, My Ruin will showcase material from their latest album 'Ghosts And Good Stories'. Boasting 13 tracks written and played entirely by Murphy on guitar, bass and drums, 'Ghosts And Good Stories' is My Ruin's sixth studio offering.
'Ghosts And Good Stories' track-listing:
01. Diggin' For Ghosts
02. Long Dark Night
03. Excommunicated
04. Eyes Black
05. Money Shot
06. Abusing The Muse
07. La Cuidad
08. Suicide Tuesday
09. Saviourself
10. Malediction

Speaking about the new album, vocalist Tarrie B explained, "I would say that 'Ghosts and Good Stories' is definitely a concept album and one which is quite reflective and apocalyptic on many levels. It didn't necessarily start off that way but it eventually began to write itself into a bit of an intimate portrait of our life as a band in and around the city of Los Angeles.
"Over the years religious imagery has played a huge part in my lyrical content and I have often left things open to interpretation but with this record it has gone from being more of a cryptically metaphorical aesthetic to highly confrontational in some instances."
