Guns N Roses Bassist Sets Up Wealth Management Company

Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan has started a new side project – one which you definitely wouldn’t expect a rockstar such as him to be involved in…
McKagan has apparently set up a new financial planning business, using his years of ‘experience’ and his wealth as a background to the new venture. The new business is aimed at musicians specifically.
I know that like me, most people reading this will be baffled and sceptical about the idea of a hard rock bassist becoming a businessman – but McKagan studied money at Santa Monica Community College, and holds a financial degree from Seattle University’s School of Business, as well as already writing a financial column for world famous Playboy magazine, called ‘Duffonomics’.
“I'm not a financial planner - I was just trying to figure this out for myself.
“I didn't want to be 60 years old and broke, having made all this money in my 20s. That was my simple goal.”
It’ll be interesting to see what musicians and bands go to McKagan for financial advice – although after reportedly spending over $13,000,000 making Chinese Democracy, former bandmate Axl Rose should probably be McKagan’s first client.
