Live Nation Forced To Cancel Plans For Japan Benefit Wembley Concert

Due to problems with artist availability, Live Nation has been forced to cancel its plans to stage a major UK concert in the UK this month. The concert was planned to help raise funds for the relief effort in Japan.

Having joined up with major labels such as Sony and Universal, Live Nation were intending to sign-up some huge stars for the charity concert which was going to be held at London's Wembley arena and screened around the world via BBC and NBC.

A spokesman for Live Nation revealed to Music Week the bad news. "Unfortunately with now only 13 days to go to the proposed Concert for Japan, sadly we are in a position where we have been unable to secure the artists required to produce the worldwide TV broadcast that we had hoped for and have therefore very reluctantly decided to proceed no further."
