Japanese Megastars Dir En Grey have announced their return to the UK this summer. The five piece will perform at London’s KOKO venue on August 12th, giving UK fans their first chance to hear new material from the forthcoming new album, due for release this summer.
The band have released the following interview with guitarist Die, who speaks out about the UK show:
Q. How do you feel to play at the same venue in UK you played 1 year ago?
Die: I’m thrilled to play in UK again. I personally like Koko very much, it’s a very nice venue. The last show in Koko was great, and I’m looking forward to the next one, as we aim to one-up ourselves this time!
Q. What will be different compared with your last live there?
Die: I don’t know how different our next show will be but one thing for sure is that it will not be the same as the last one. We always do our best at our every show, that much I can promise.
Q. Will you play new songs?
Die: Well, we haven’t gone into any detailed discussions yet so nothing is set but, yes, I suppose we will play some.
Q. Any words to UK fans?
Die: We are about to get to the best part of making a new record, although is takes a long time. After being cooped up in a studio for so long the other members are hungry for playing live now, so I am sure the show will be exciting. We are looking forward to seeing all of you in UK in August.
