Dir En Grey are a Japanese metal outfit hailing from Osaka. Formed in 1997, the band consists of frontman Kyo, guitarists Kaoru and Die, bassist Toshiya, and drummer Shinya.
Despite its line-up never changing throughout the length of their career, Dir En Grey's style has continually evolved over their 15+ years together - though metal always remains at the root of their sound. Having put out nine albums, Dir En Grey would gradually become an internationally renowned name, breaking into the US and Europe in the mid '00s.
