Legendary Orange County punk rockers Social Distortion have released a special new video for their latest single ‘Machine Gun Blues’ – the first to be taken from their seventh album ‘Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes’. The video was revealed at a red carpet event in Hollywood on Thursday night, where the band also played an hour-long set of new tracks as well as some old favourites. Social Distortion are set to tour Europe in June and July, including a date at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
The video for ‘Machine Gun Blues’ is a short film that depicts the band as gangsters on the run in 1930s’ Los Angeles. ‘Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes’, which is Social Distortion’s first release in seven years, came out earlier this year to huge international success. It was the band’s first album to enter the Top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and their first to chart in the UK.
Social Distortion were founded in 1978 by vocalist and guitarist Mike Ness, who is also the band’s only remaining member. They released their debut album ‘Mommy’s Little Monster’ in 1983, but didn’t receive any widespread commercial success until their eponymous third album, released in 1990, which included the track ‘Story Of My Life’.
