London–born and Irish-bred, Maverick Sabre has had an astonishing rise in the last 12 months and is now set to release new single ‘Let Me Go’. Built around a classic sample by Isaac Hayes, it’s blasts of brass underpin a brilliantly distinctive vocal that is sure to establish Maverick as one of the most exciting and unique voices in credible UK pop.
The hip-hop influenced soulful folk artist has had an astonishing rise in the last 12 months. First discovered by Plan B, he’s since played on records by Chase & Status and added vocals to the NME Award-winning Professor Green track ‘Jungle’. From there he has gone from strength to strength, with support slots with Cee-Lo and three recent dates with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.
Radio 1 have already identified Maverick Sabre as one of the most exciting new British acts around. Recent track ‘Where We Gonna Go’ has been on the In New Music We Trust playlist, alongside Record Of The Week on Fearne Cotton’s show whilst he performed live during Chris Moyles’ record-breaking radio show back in April for Comic Relief. He’s been A-listed at 1Xtra and had key plays from Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens. On top of all this he performed a blistering two-song set on Later with Jools Holland earlier this year.
The summer will then see him embark on the festival circuit with notable slots at Glastonbury, Bestival, and Wireless.
Look out for Maverick Sabre’s hugely-anticipated debut album later this year on Mercury Records.
