Carl Barat Photo Sparks The Libertines Reunion Rumour Mill... Again

Rumours of a Libertines revival have spread around the internet over the weekend after Carl Barat revealed he had spent the day with troubled star Pete Doherty, before posting a picture of him and Pete together.
The two have a controversial past, with Barat once stopping Doherty touring with the group because of his drug abuse, only to have his house burgled by Doherty while on duty with the rest of the band. In fact, it’s been reported that during recording sessions in 2004, the two needed bodyguards to stop each other from attacking one another.
But, after posts on Barat’s Twitter, it appears the two have put their bitter past behind them and rekindled their friendly relationship, leaving fans wondering whether a reunion is on the cards for their favourites.
“Just spent the day with me ol. Tickety bibble x,” wrote Barat. “Oh, and by the way, Peter doesn’t have a twitter.” He also posted the picture, which you can see above on the right, following the tweet.
Barat previously spoke to BBC 6Music about a Libertines reunion, though in a much less positive manner.
“I don't want to spend the next year,” Barat said, “with everyone just asking about The Libertines. It's just draining... if internally things aren't in the same place as they were then, I can't do anything about that.”
Nothing official has been said and this is still simply a rumour – but stick with Stereoboard for any more Libertines news in the future.
