AC/DC have formed a new partnership which will see the hard-rockers promoting and selling their own... bottles of wine!
The Australian legends have penned the deal with New South Wales based vineyard and winery Warburn Estate, who will be selling the band’s wine across Australia this year. The different types of wine will also receive rock n’ roll names after songs by the ‘TNT’ singers.
Fans will be able to sip and swill ‘Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon’, ‘Back in Black Shiraz’ and ‘You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato’. Unfortunately, we don’t know if there’ll be any ‘Whole Lotta Rosé’. You can see a picture of two fans with a bottle of the wine on the right of this article.
Steve Donohue, the general manager of Woolworths Liquor Group, said “This is a world-wide phenomena and a first in the marketplace. We wanted to make sure that AC/DC's home fan base could have easy access to their rock icons' wines.”
He also described some of the flavours the different types of wine would deliver – saying that the Moscato would be “perfect for lady rock fans” and that the Shiraz tastes like “spice and dark berry, performing like a world tour taking centre stage.”
As odd as the story is, they are no-where near being the first band to release their own wine. They were beaten by rockers KISS, Motörhead, Queensrÿche, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, The Rolling Stones, Warrant, Barbra Streisand, Madonna and Olivia Newton John, who all have their own brand of wine.
It is unknown whether the wine will be making its way onto British shelves.
