My Bloody Valentine Tickets, Tour Dates & Concerts 2024/2025 ♫Last Updated: 04 Jun 2018 9:56am
My Bloody Valentine are an Irish alternative rock outfit hailing from Dublin. Forming in 1983 and named after the famous horror film of the same name the band (after a couple of less successful line-ups) has consisted of the same members for more than 20 years - frontman Kevin Shields drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig guitarist and backing vocalist Bilinda Butcher and bassist Debbie Googe.
Releasing their debut album ‘Isn’t Anything’ in 1988 the band’s sound constantly evolved and their use of crazy effects such as pitch bending and electronic reverb saw them pioneering the genre of shoegaze. Their second record, ‘Loveless’, took a massive two years to record and almost resulted in their label going bankrupt - but when it hit shelves in 1991 they received much critical acclaim. Following a long break and a failed third album the band returned in 2007, and went on to release the long-awaited follow-up, 'm b v', in 2013. In summer 2018, they tour the US for the first time in five years. But before that, they will perform in Birmingham in June prior to their show at Robert Smith's Meltdown Festival.
