Bungling Michael Forever chiefs have attempted to restore faith into their “doomed” concert by adding superstar Beyoncé to their line-up – but the singer will not be present at the event in Cardiff on October 8th, performing live.
Fresh from their embarrassing KISS affair, Global Live Events have decided that diva Beyoncé would be the perfect addition to a bill which mainly consists of talent show contestants and UK boy bands. So, by booking the beautiful Beyoncé, will fans be musically satisfied on the night?
Although Beyoncé is a superstar, we doubt that fans will be particularly happy that the ‘Single Ladies’ singer will be ‘appearing’ at the concert by Satellite link and performing just one track. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, it’s currently unknown whether the performance over the camera feed would even be beamed live – they may stream a PRE-RECORDED routine that is simply played to the 72,000 fans that are hoped to turn up. Beyoncé is expected to cover a Jackson 5 track for the concert.
Organisers revealed the booking through their Facebook page, writing: “A unique, never-before-seen performance by Beyoncé of one of her favourite Jackson 5 songs will be shown at the concert.
“A lifelong Michael fan, Beyoncé really wanted to be involved in this tribute concert. Due to scheduling issues she can't be there in person, but this performance is not to be missed.”
Beyoncé has not confirmed any involvement in the concert. The star is expected to return to tour the UK in 2012, but as no confirmed tour plans for the remainder of the year.
The line-up now includes 3T, Alexandra Burke, Alien Ant Farm, Beyoncé, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Craig David, Diversity, Jackson Brothers, JLS, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Smokey Robinson. What do you think of the Michael Forever line-up? Tell us in the comments below.
