Mumford and Sons, Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire are part of an extensive musical line-up for a charity show being organised by none other than Neil Young. The artists are set to play at the annual Bridge School Benefit concert, which is the brainchild of musical legend Young and his wife Pegi.
The shows are a purely acoustic affair, which will see all three bands perform intimate sets for the benefit of the Bridge School, which aims to help children with severe physical difficulties and communication problems. The series of performances will take place on October 22nd and 23rd at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
Other acts confirmed in the impressive line-up include Beck, Jenny Lewis, Carlos Santana, Eddie Vedder and Tony Bennett. The school was formed in 1986 by Young and his wife to care for their son Ben and other children from the California area. The first benefit concert has now reached near-legendary status, featuring performances from Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and of course Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Since the formation of the Bridge School, the benefit concerts have been grace by Rock royalty including David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Who, and Metallica. In more recent years, the likes of Dave Matthews, Green Day and Pearl Jam have all performed at the charity event.
