Australian singer-songwriter Sam Sparro has returned to the electro-pop scene with a brand new album, the follow-up to his eponymous 2008 debut.
‘Return to Paradise’ is set for a release sometime in May, and captures Sam’s electro soul sound and features a wide range of musicians from all over the world. Produced by Jesse ‘Golden Touch’ Rogg and Sam himself, the album’s set to catapult Sparro further into the forefront of his scene, after he made big movements with his debut.
Other P=producers include Grammy Producer of the Year Nominee Greg Kurstin, Jono Sloan (who’s worked with Empire of the Sun), Tim Anderson (worked with Ima Robot) and Lester Mendez. Jamiroquai founding bass player Stuart Zender will feature on the album too, alongside violinist Caitlin Moe, and the horn section from Hercules, Love Affair and Midnight Magic.
Sam also worked with Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, Florence and the Machine’s Isabella Summers and Swedish singer/songwriter Erik Hassle on some of the song writing – and the results are an eclectic collection of songs about love lost and the quest for happiness. Stylistically, there are songs that range from 80′s electro soul and disco dance floor fillers to beautiful ballads.
