Evanescence Unveil New Video for ‘My Heart is Broken’ – Watch Now

Thursday, 26 January 2012 Written by Rob Sleigh

Grammy-winning rockers Evanescence have unveiled the official video to their new single ‘My Heart is Broken’. The track is taken from their eponymous third album – the band’s first in five years – which reached Number 4 in the UK Albums Chart upon its release last year. Watch the new video below.

Speaking about the new single, singer Amy Lee said: “Originally I intended to play harp on this song, but as it developed I changed over to the piano. I love this song, the emotional outpouring is kind of honest.”

Evanescence were originally formed in 1995, but didn’t release their first album ‘Fallen’ until 2003. The album topped the chart in the UK and reached Number 3 in the US Billboard 200. It has since sold over 17,000,000 copies worldwide and earned the band two Grammy Awards. Their new album is the second Evanescence album to reach Number One in the Billboard 200 following 2006’s ‘The Open Door’, which included the Top 10 single ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’.

Since their formation, Evanescence have been through a number of line-up changes. Speaking about their new album’s success, Amy Lee – the band’s only remaining original member – said: “What can I say, we're thrilled about it. We made an album that we're really proud of and now we get to watch it fly. We weren't expecting this and we're just so grateful to our fans.”
