Scowl will return with their second album this spring.

Produced by Will Yip and mixed by Rich Costey, 'Are We All Angels' will arrive on April 4 via the California hardcore band's new label home, Dead Oceans.

The record's first single and opening track, Special, landed back in October. Now, the four-piece have dropped another preview in the form of Not Hell, Not Heaven, which leans more into alt-rock territory. Check out the Sean Stout-directed video below. Vocalist Kat Moss commented:

"It’s about feeling victimized and being a victim, but not wanting to identify with being a victim. It’s trying to find grace in the fact that I have my power. I live in my reality. You have to deal with whatever you’re dealing with, and it ain’t working for me."

Scowl released their debut album, 'How Flowers Grow', in 2021, followed by the 'Psychic Dance Routine' EP in 2023.

The band will tour North America this spring supporting Movements. They'll also appear at this year's Hinterland festival in St. Charles, Iowa in August.

'Are We All Angels' tracklist:

1. Special
2. B.A.B.E.

6. Fleshed Out
7. Let You Down
