Guitar genius Jack White will kick-start his new-found solo career with a performance on infamous comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live.
The former White Stripes star has been working on his debut solo record ‘Blunderbuss’, which is set to hit shelves on April 23rd. Jack is to precede the album release with a performance on SNL. The show will be hosted by Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan and will air on March 3rd.
The performance also precedes Jack White’s debut live solo gigs, which are set for the following week in the US. White has previously announced that he’ll be performing at London’s Hackney Weekend in June, but these US shows will be his first official live shows as a solo artist and he’ll be making his debut at the Chattanooga Track Club on March 10th.
Talking about his decision to go solo, White told fans: “I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas.”
