If you’re getting tired of Adele’s near constant airplay and you’re looking for a new soulful female songstress, then Brighton based singer Moya might be worth a look with her interpretation of Primal Scream’s ‘I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have.’
In what Moya describes as a ‘cool twist of fate’ the track was recorded by Pat Collier, who mixed the Primal Scream original, and the song itself is a soulful, sensitive interpretation of the Primal Scream classic. Moya is in possession of a very delicate and emotive voice, which floats above the fluttering keys of a grand piano. Her interpretation of the song is elegant, subtle and understated, relying only on the emotion of the lyrics and a handful of breathless, feminine vocal flourishes to give the song some distinction. With a song as gorgeous as this, it seems that Moya understands that the track’s power rests in its very simple beauty as she takes the lazy masculinity of the original and strips it back to its romantic bones. The video is equally as understated, featuring only Moya in front of a microphone, shot entirely in black and white, the emotional depth of the song written all over her face.
The track is taken from Moya’s up-and-coming Acoustic EP, and is available exclusively through Moya’s website www.moyamusic.com, so if you're looking for a new female artist to tickle your romantic senses, flit on over to the website and give Moya a listen.
