Green Day Unveil New Studio Footage Of Album Recording Process - Watch Now

US punk-rockers Green Day have unveiled a new video capturing themselves hard at work on their brand new ninth studio album.
The new album, which produced by Rob Cavallo and is currently untitled, will be the follow-up to 2009's '21st Century Breakdown'. Green Day have been releasing short clips documenting the recording progress, with this new 30-second video capturing frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recording vocals and playing guitar.
Speaking about the new material, Billie Joe commented: “Y’know, I think this is so personal, and it’s so voyeuristic – and it is - I think this is the first time we’ve ever really sung about fucking.”
Bassist Mike Dirnt added: “It’s daunting, [the fans] are gonna get like an ugh, and they’re gonna sit there and hold the record and look at it like a piece of art. I mean, the songs are gonna blow their fucking minds.”
Green Day have announced their first appearances of 2012, ahead of their theatrical run of ‘American Idiot’ musical dates in the UK this October. The performances will be their first organised gigs since 2010 and will see them rocking out sets at festivals in Japan and France this August.
The band have been confirmed as headliner at both the epic Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, and the Rock en Seine Festival at Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, just outside of Paris, France.
Their critically acclaimed ‘American Idiot’ musical will be making its way to the UK this Autumn.
