Jesus Christ Superstar To Tour UK Arenas In September & Tickets

Andrew Lloyd Webber's critically lauded rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar' is to hit the UK's major arenas this autumn, as the show is taken around the country in it's first ever UK arena tour.
'Jesus Christ Superstar' started off as a rock opera concept recording before its first staging on Broadway in 1971. The ground-breaking production, which reinvented musical theatre for the modern age, is based very loosely on the Gospels' account of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the crucifixion.
The production will tour the UK in September and October, visiting some of the biggest arenas the country has to offer. Tim Minchin is to play Judas, former Spice Girl Melanie C will play Mary Magdalene and BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles will perform as King Herod.
