Archeo Announces 'The Payback' Release Date - Listen Now

21 year-old pop singer-songwriter-producer Archeo has announced that he’ll release new single ‘The Payback’ - which you can hear below - on September 2nd.

The new track, which is the follow-up to recent singles ‘Mr. General’ and ‘Glass Half Empty’, is an addictive pop hit that will take Archeo - pronounced ‘Ar-Kay-O’ - even further up the ladder of success, as he finishes work on his debut album.

A combination of the smoothness of Outkast, the out and out hit factor of Backstreet Boys and the sky-high hooks of N-Sync, ‘The Payback’ teases you with an edgy beat before launching into a huge chorus that you can’t get out of your head. Produced by Mr. Waltmann (Madonna, No Doubt, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson), it’s a track that is hugely catchy, needs to be turned up loud and can’t help but make you smile.

Archeo has had a globe-straddling life to date – his mother is from Panama and his dad from India, where his father’s business saw Archeo move around a lot. He lived in Hong Kong for five years, studied at an American school in Nigeria, then settled to London when he was 11.

This can be heard in his music, with nods to the likes of A.R. Rahman, and can be seen in his styling where Archeo throws a Nehru jacket in with vintage clothing, modern men’s tailoring and a slight rockabilly influence for an impressive look that will most definitely make you glance twice.

Archeo is currently in the studio working on his debut album, released later this year, with producers like Mr. Waltmann, on The Payback, and The White N3rd (Loick Essien), but with Archeo at the helm throughout. Expect a musical ride of futuristic pop that is mainstream fun yet tasteful, credible and slick.
