CIA offshot Deep Kut has been bringing us the premium in deep drum and bass since 2006, when CIADK001 - Calibre’s ‘Release’ - first hit shelves. Owned by Total Science, CIA and Deep Kut continue to bring the moodier and more melodic side of drum and bass today - with Beta2’s new single ‘Love Finds Me’.
Featuring vocalist Pete Josef, the track is a lush-sounding piece of downtempo drum and bass reminiscent of producers such as Lenzman and dBridge, two names at the forefront of today’s liquid scene.
With beautifully crafted piano and string parts, a deep but driving bassline, and a clean drum sequence worthy of any modern liquid track, ‘Love Finds Me’ is definitely a big track - but for me, it’s the accompanying vocals which really make the tune stand out.
On the flip of the track we have Zero T’s ‘Red Hands’, a cheeky steppa with a dark, distorted bassline and some chopped up 90s dance samples. Not exactly a storming track, but rather a dark and nasty alternative to the A-side - and the progressive rolling amen breaks that come in later through the track give it an extra edge.
This one hit shelves on October 29th which means it's available to buy now on vinyl or mp3. You can check out a preview of the tracks below.
