Californian thrash-metal legends Slayer have been announced as the third and final headline act for Bloodstock Open Air 2013.
Known as one of the 'Big Four' thrash metal bands, multi-million selling Slayer have taken the world by storm since the release of their debut album back in 1983.
Slayer have been confirmed to headline Bloodstock's Sunday night, 11th August, topping the bill over on the Ronnie James Dio Main Stage. They join the already confirmed fellow headliners King Diamond and Lamb Of God, who perform on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Guitarist Kerry King comments; "Can't wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock! Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes!! It's going to be hell on earth and I'm looking forward to having a party with all my British friends."
With the addition of Slayer, thrash fans can now enjoy two of the 'Big Four' bands on offer, with Anthrax also confirmed to perform over the weekend. Other acts confirmed for the festival's 2013 line-up include Devildriver, Municipal Waste, Amorphis, Dark Funeral, Accept, Firewind, and Fozzy.
