Hugh Laurie has confirmed details of his second album, as well as dates for a new UK tour.
Hugh Laurie will release 'Didn't It Rain' via Warner Music on May 6th. To support the album he will embark on an 8-date UK tour in June.
'Didn't It Rain' was recorded at LA's Ocean Way Studio in January and produced by Joe Henry. Speaking about the album, which is a move away from the New Orleans sound on 2011 debut 'Let Them Talk and towards music from the American heartland, Hugh says: "I have resolved to forge on, deeper into the forest of American music that has enchanted me since I was a small boy.
"And the further I go, the more bewitched I become - both by the songs and by the people I have been lucky enough to play them with."
The album features the Copper Bottom Band - Jay Bellerose, Kevin Breit, Vincent Henry, Greg Leisz, Robby Marshall, David Piltch and Patrick Warren with Elizabeth Lea and Larry Goldings. In addition, guest vocals on the track 'Vicksburg Blues' come from Gaby Moreno, Jean McClain and Taj Mahal.
