Stereoboard Preview Snowbombing Festival 2013

Up high in the sky lurks a festival like no other. Laced in bright white, and touched with powdered snow is the beautiful awe-inspiring panorama of Snowbombing - taking music festivals to the mountains.

ImageAnd this year, the organisers have gone all out, bringing in one of the greatest contemporary rock n roll bands of recent times to headline the festival – Kasabian.

Imagine yourselves sat aside a mountain, placed inside a rather large Igloo with a few hundred people, dressed in winter woolies, drinking vodka dash from an ice cube glass whilst Kasabian play an acoustic set, and no you're not dreaming.

The guys from Leicestershire have dumped the Midlands for the mountains of Austria, as they prepare not only a sensational and thrilling headline set overlooking the views, but they will also play a very close and intimate acoustic set to a lucky select few revellers in the Barclaycard Igloo Stage.

Kasabian said: “We have heard amazing things about Snowbombing over the years. Dance music has always been a massive influence on us so we are very excited to play this iconic event.”

And this is just one of the many unbelievable feats going on through the first week of April at Snowbombing, as how many festivals indulge in the winter sports of skiing and snowboarding, allow fans to relax in a tranquil bath of saunas and jacuzzis, before letting their hair down and storming through the night to the sounds of all genres of music.

Reports suggest most artists stay for more than just one day, as oppose to most festivals where the bands are unlikely to sojourn more than a few hours either side of their set.

Example, returning this year to headline the Forest Stage said: “I don't just come to Snowbombing on the day of the gig. I come for the week. Still the best party of the year for me - unrivalled location. I’ve got the added excitement of playing the forest this year!”

Also on the bill for Snowbombing 2013 is Katy B, Rudimental, Above and Beyond and Disclosure, who will all be performing live somewhere across the mountain, whilst a host of world-class disc jockeys will descend on Mayrhofen, including the legendary Carl Cox, Dj Yoda, Jack Beats and the Simian Mobile Disco.

As well as mountain-side picturesque stage, raves in the forests, street parties and fancy dress themed days, Snowbombing portrays all the ingredients to mix up a storm in the right way, and bring more than an avalanche of fun.

Snowbombing is based in Austria, Mayrhofen. For further information see www.snowbombing.com.
