'Slipknot Have Tricks Up Their Sleeves', Says Download Chief Andy Copping

Thursday, 13 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Andy Copping, the organiser of Download Festival, has promised fans that American metal outfit Slipknot have some tricks up their sleeves ready for their set on the weekend.

The world famous masked band have been lined-up to headline the Friday of this year’s event, and with fans already looking forward to the festival, Copping has delivered news that’ll have them frothing at the mouth - revealing that Corey Taylor and co. have got some major surprises ready.

Speaking to NME, Copping explained:

"The band have promised me they've got some surprises up their sleeve, they've told me that. Their show is going to be very spectacular, with so much pyro. It'll be all the hits too.”

Copping continued on to tell the site about the last time he booked the band to play, back in 2009. He said:

“I took a chance on them, people were unsure, but they were everybody's band of the weekend and that set has gone down in Download folklore. You can't take your eyes off them when they're onstage, it'll be exactly the same at Download this weekend.”
