Hop Farm Festival To Return In 2014

Tuesday, 22 October 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Kent’s Hop Farm Music Festival is to be revived next year, having seen its 2013 edition cancelled.

The folk and indie event, which first took place in 2008 and quickly grew into a popular three-day festival, was canned in 2013, with the recession blamed for its demise.

It was also stated that the future of the festival looked pretty bleak, but it’s now been announced that thanks to a new promoter - reported to be Neil Butkeraitis, who runs Nottingham’s Flashback Festival - Hope Farm Music Festival will be making a return.

Kent Online reports that Hop Farm’s head of marketing Miguel Fenton has said:

“The event is going ahead, which is great news. There will be a fresh approach under a new promoter.”

It’s believed to be taking place on July 4-6 next year, and will cater to around 20,000 people. With one of its organisers claiming that it will now be more of a ‘boutique’ festival, it seems there may be more than just music in store.

No artists have been confirmed as of yet, but in the past, names like Bob Dylan, Morrissey, and Prince have all performed. Who would you like to see at the new Hop Farm Music Festival? Leave us a comment in the box below!
