Arctic Monkeys To Headline T In The Park 2014

Wednesday, 20 November 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Arctic Monkeys have confirmed they will headline next year's T in the Park festival.

The Sheffield rockers are the first headliners - and first act - to be announced for the Scottish festival, which goes ahead in Kinross from July 11 to 13. T in the Park Tickets are on sale from 9am on November 22.

The chart-topping band first played the weekender back in 2006 and returned five years later as headliners. Speaking about the band's 2014 return, festival director Geoff Ellis said:

"After this year's fantastic 20th year celebrations, we asked our audience who they'd like to see at next year's festival and Arctic Monkeys came top of the poll, so we're really pleased to be able to confirm them for T In The Park.

"When they take to the stage in Glasgow this week they'll prove exactly why they're one of the greatest live acts around, and I'm sure we can look forward to another phenomenal set at T in the Park.

"We have many more fantastic acts in store which we'll announce next year, and can't wait to see you all again in July."

Close to finishing their current Autumn UK arena tour supporting latest album 'AM', Arctic Monkeys perform at Birmingham's LG Arena tonight before a concluding the tour at Glasgow's Hydro Arena tomorrow. Their UK live schedule is already starting to fill out again after the band recently confirmed two huge shows at London's Finsbury Park for May 2014.
