Comedian Rhys Darby Announces July UK Tour

Monday, 20 January 2014 Written by Jon Stickler

New Zealand funnyman Rhys Darby has announced July UK shows for his new stand-up tour.

Darby will kick off his new Mr Adventure Tour on July 6 in St Albans, while other stops on the trek include Bristol's Colston Hall, Cardiff's St David's Hall, Leeds Town Hall, Cambridge Corn Exchange and two shows at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Speaking about the new run, Rhys described the show as:

"From the misty mountains of Rwanda to the eerie shores of Loch Ness, I’ve attempted to see it all...  If you’ve ever wondered what our adventurous comedy hero does on his day off…I’ll tell you. Expect tales of awe from the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, hilarious reenactment of his discovering a cryptid in Texas owned by a gun toting big game hunter, and listen in wonderment as I describe the gorillas in Rwanda and how to not get lost in the biggest mall in America."

If you've not yet seen Darby live, you're probably familiar with his role as one of the main characters in Flight of the Conchords, in which he plays the incompetent but enthusiastic band manager Murray Hewitt. He has also appeared in the films Yes Man and The Boat That Rocked.
