HBO has posted a short trailer for Sonic Highways, a documentary series tracing the recording of the new Foo Fighters album.
The show follows the Foos as they record in iconic studios across the US, with stops in Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York. In the teaser's voiceover, Grohl narrates:
"It all started with the idea of recording in different studios all over the country. Doing something to make it new. You can tie all of these people and places together with these 'sonic highways'. This is a musical map of America."
Grohl made his directorial debut with Sound City, a documentary about the California studio of the same name, last year. Foo Fighters released 'Wasting Light' in 2011, with its follow up expected this autumn.
