Kanye West and Justin Vernon are among the possible guests on James Blake’s new record.
Blake discussed the follow up to ‘Overgrown’ - winner of last year’s Mercury Prize - with Billboard during Bonnaroo, confirming that each song is “about 50% done”.
Vernon has been a writing partner of Blake’s during the process, while West and another, as yet unnamed, artist are in line to feature if circumstances allow. Blake said:
“Justin Bon Iver, I’ve done some writing with. And I think we’ll continue to do that. Sporadically Kanye, when he’s around. It’s hard to say what’ll end up on the record...but exciting times.”
Meanwhile, Blake will join Neutral Milk Hotel in headlining Jabberwocky at London's Excel Centre on the weekend of August 15 and 16.
