Camden Crawl has been placed into voluntary liquidation, according to the festival’s organisers.
An automatic email response from one of the event’s founders, Lisa Paulon, printed by the Guardian and Music Week, reads:
"If your email is regarding a financial query, please be aware the, unfortunately Crawl Promotions Limited T/A Camden Crawl is experiencing financial difficulty.
"It is with great regret that the Board has decided that there is no option but to place the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation. The Board has instructed an Insolvency Practitioner to assist in this process."
The move has left several bands alleging that they were not paid prior to the decision being made. Jack Cooper of Mazes wrote on Twitter: “So Camden Crawl? Did you really just go into voluntary liquidation without paying us or anyone else?”
Through their Twitter account, Invada Records added: “#CamdenCrawl gone under without paying 2 Invada bands. They point blank refused to pay advance deposits & used the #TrustUs mantra throghout.”
