It’s the latest to be unveiled from the duo’s new LP, ‘Three’, which is out on October 7 through Republic. Discussing the track with Complex, who premiered it, Sarah Barthel said:
"Cruel World was one of the first songs we wrote for ‘Three’. It set the tone for the album in a huge way for us. The overall message is about how tragic life can be at times - how the world can bring you down...but you have to try to find the beauty in it sometimes."
Following the album's arrival, Phantogram will return to the UK in November for shows in Brighton, London, Manchester and Glasgow.
