Hatchie has released a video for her new track, Sleep.
The track will feature on the Brisbane singer-songwriter's debut EP, 'Sugar & Spice', which is due out on May 25 through Heavenly Recordings. Discussing it, Harriet Pilbeam, aka Hatchie, said:
“Sleep is about feeling frustrated with someone who can't communicate their feelings. In this song I'm trying to coax someone into talking to me by any means necessary, even if it means visiting me in dreams.”
On the video, she continued:
"We decided to play on the idea that I'm trying to get someone to communicate with me in their sleep. We made a bunch of dreamy sets to focus on, like I'm talking to them in their dreams. At some points I'm really serious, at other points I'm almost teasing them because I'm so over trying to get them to talk.”
Hatchie will play her debut UK shows next month. She will appear at Live At Leeds, Liverpool's Sound City, Salford's Sounds From The Other City, the Aussie BBQ London and the Great Escape.
She has also lined up support slots with Anna Burch in Glasgow and Birmingham, and a run of dates in London, including opening for Death Of Pop on May 10, Camille Christel on May 16, Firestations on May 19, and Dan Stock on May 22.
