Mogwai will release 'KIN: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack' on August 31 via Rock Action.
The album was written by the band for the sci-fi crime film KIN, which was directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker and stars Jack Reynor, Zoë Kravitz, Carrie Coon, Dennis Quaid and James Franco. Discussing it, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite said:
“We were really excited to be asked to record the original score for Jonathan and Josh Baker’s debut movie KIN. It was amazing to do a project that was so different to anything we’ve done before and see how our music fits in a totally different environment to how it’s been used before. The music in the film is some of my favourite Mogwai has ever made and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”

The Scottish band will play Robert Smith's Meltdown Festival in London on June 21 before heading to Europe. They return to the UK next month for Latitude and will continue on the festival circuit throughout the summer, stopping at All Together Now in Ireland and the Edinburgh International Festival, among others.
