Tim Hecker will return with a new album this autumn.
The Canadian electronic musician will put out 'Konoyo' on September 28 through Kranky. It is the first new material to emerge from him since Veil Scans, a contribution to the Adult Swim singles series, while his last full-length was 2016's 'Love Streams'.
The majority of the album was recorded over the course of several trips to Japan, where he collaborated with gagaku ensemble Tokyo Gakuso in a temple in Tokyo. The composer also took inspiration from coversations he had with a friend who has since passed away.
Hecker will support the record with live shows in Tokyo, Krakow, Berlin and London, where he will play the Barbican on October 6. For the performances he will be joined by members of Tokyo Gakuso and accompanied by Kara-Lis Coverdale.
Head below to listen to This Life, the first single to be shared from 'Konoyo', which clocks in just shy of nine minutes.
