Modern Life is War have shared the second leg of their Tribulation Worksongs series.
The hardcore band have shoved a brace of new songs into the world, with another handmade, hand-assembled 7” set to follow through Deathwish around the end of October. The release was recorded with Luke Tweedy at Flat Black Studios and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City.
Track one is called Revival Fires and will immediately strike a chord with those who appreciate their more melodic side, in line with a staple like D.E.A.D.R.A.M.O.N.E.S. or Health, Wealth and Peace, from their most recent LP ‘Fever Hunting’.
The second, Indianapolis Talking Blues, is driven by a spoken-word approach from vocalist Jeff Eaton, whose lyrics are encased in a mournful, almost alt-country instrumental. “What makes a man kill? Is it noble when it is his order?” he asks. “Is it pitiful when it is his will?”
