Still On My Mind is the title track from the vocalist’s new album, her first in five years, which is due for release on March 8 via BMG. She will support the record with her first world tour in 15 years, touching down in the UK and Ireland in May.
The new song is about her time in the USA, and puts a modern twist on the sound of those iconic pipes by teaming it up with synthesisers and a take on digital trap percussion. She said:
“It’s a song to America in a way. I lived there for a little bit and I loved it, but I wanted to come home. There’s still a part of me that misses the greatness, the space and the freedom. It’s a country where you can aspire to something bigger than yourself in a really lovely way.”
