Bastille Announce Release Date For New Album 'Doom Days', Share New Single Joy And UK Club Dates

Bastille have lined up a summer release for their third album, 'Doom Days'.
The follow up to 2016's 'Wild World' is due on June 14 via Virgin Records. To celebrate the news, the British synth-pop quartet have shared a new single, Joy, which brings together ethreal synths and finds the band experimenting with a gospel choir. It follows the previously released title track and Quarter Past Midnight in previewing the record. Vocalist Dan Smith said:
"'Doom Days' is a record that celebrates real human connections and urges us to keep searching for moments of elation.
"It's an album that starts in the middle of an Uber ride through the city streets and ends waking on the kitchen floor with the healing sounds of euphoric new single Joy, which sees the demons of life’s hangovers dispelled by a simple phone call from someone special.
"That glimmer of hope at the end of the album says everything – the smallest human gesture can pull you back from the brink."
Additionally, the Brit Award-winning band have lined up nine intimate club shows around the UK in November and December. They will perform the album in full in Coventry, Carlisle, Aberdeen, Bradford, Grimsby, Llandudno, Torquay, Portsmouth, and Margate, with tickets for the shows on general sale at 9am on May 10.
The UK run will follow a North American tour, which will kick off on September 16 in Philadelphia. Bastille also appear at London's Citadel Festival and Reading and Leeds this summer.
