Bon Iver Premiere Two New Singles Hey Ma and U (Man Like)

Monday, 03 June 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Bon Iver closed their headline All Points East set by premiering two new singles.

After finishing their performance, Hey Man and U (Man Like) played out over the speakers, and now the band have given the tracks a proper release.

On the former, Justin Vernon continues his well-loved style of taking what could be an emotional and delicate acoustic guitar-led track and flipping it on its head with auto-tuned vocoder harmonies and a heavy reliance on electronics.

The latter, U (Man Like) features Moses Sumney and centres around a piano melody, giving the listener the first chance in a while to hear Vernon’s vocals without being heavily laden with effects.

The band have tour dates in Europe and North America throughout the rest of the year. Their last album, meanwhile, was 2016's '22, A Million'.
