Bat For Lashes has shared a new track from her forthcoming album.
‘Lost Girls’ is due to arrive on September 6 via AWAL Recordings. The Hunger, its latest cut, is a cinematic and visceral piece of alt-pop. Following on from Kids In The Dark and Feel For You, the new song features choir-like ethereal backing vocals on top of some dramatic keys and 1980s-esque synths.
The accompanying video, which Natasha Khan directs and stars in, sees the vocalist and songwriter as a new character named Nikki Pink, involved in some emotional embraces on a deserted beach, before her team of angels-come-back-up-singers, also known as the titular Lost Girls, form a chrysalis around her as she evolves into the "head priestess" of the group.
‘Lost Girls’ is the first release from Bat For Lashes since 2016's ‘The Bride’.
