Prophets Of Rage have shared a new single.
Pop Goes The Weapon is the first from the rock supergroup —featuring members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill — since Made With Hate, which arrived in June.
The new track criticises gun violence in America with menacing lyrics viciously spat by B-Real, and is accompanied by a powerful montage of statistics and news reports from incidents in 2019. Guitarist Tom Morello said:
“Guns are both the subject of religious worship AND huge profits in the United States. Combined with emboldened white nationalism, the recent epidemic of massacres is little surprise. Pop Goes The Weapon channels our “thoughts & prayers” through Marshall stacks & microphones.”
Prophets of Rage have two shows planned in Los Angeles in mid-September, and are currently working on the follow up to their 2017 debut album.
Prophets Of Rage Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Wed September 11 2019 - LOS ANGELES California - Mayan Theatre - CA (USA)
Thu September 12 2019 - LOS ANGELES California - Mayan Theatre - CA (USA)
