Lizzo and Billie Eilish are among the names nominated for Grammy Awards in 2020.
The artists bring in eight and six nominations respectively and are up against each other in many of the same categories, including Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best New Artist and Best Solo Pop Performance. Lizzo’s nods are for Truth Hurts, Jerome and her third album ‘Cuz I Love You’, while Eilish is being recognised for her debut, ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ and her track Bad Guy.
Elsewhere, Ariana Grande is nominated in four categories: Record Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for 7 Rings, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her collaborative number Boyfriend with Social House and Best Pop Vocal Album with ‘Thank U, Next’. Taylor Swift’s singles Lover and You Need To Calm Down are also up for Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, respectively, while her ‘Lover’ LP is also in the running for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Other nominees across the board include Beyoncé, Rosalía, Lil Nas X, the Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, Bon Iver, Lana Del Rey, and H.E.R., as well as newcomers Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers, Tank and the Bangas and Yola, who are competing with the bigger names for Best New Artist.
