Bombay Bicycle Club have shared a new single.
The indie band's latest is the title track of their forthcoming fifth album ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’, which is due on January 17 via Caroline International.
Following on from lead single Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You), the new song utilises the same tinny fairground synthesiser, and teams it with repetitive rhythms and a monotone vocal line from frontman Jack Steadman, who said the song encapsulates everything the record is about.
"For my whole life, I haven't been very good at expressing myself with words. The irony is that the song is about not wanting to write lyrics, but it has lyrics I'm really proud of. And after that, we realised a lot of the other songs had that theme, of music as a cathartic refuge."
The video, directed by former touring keyboardist Louis Bhose, sees Steadman lifeless and limp on the floor, getting kicked, mugged and trampled on as people go about their business, before a final resuscitation.
Bombay Bicycle Club will tour their new LP, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’, across the UK and Ireland early next year with support from the Big Moon and Liz Lawrence. Tickets are on sale now.
