Following a preview in a Mercedes-Benz advertisement, the Weeknd has released his new track Blinding Lights.
Musically it differs greatly from its recent R&B predecessor Heartless, embracing '80s electro-pop with prominent synths and growling basslines, while lyrically it again delves into romantic relationships.
The songs are the Candian singer's first new solo material since the release of his 'My Dear Melancholy,' EP in 2018. His last album, meanwhile, was 2016's 'Starboy'.
